The "bounce back"...
The COVID-19 pandemic has been devastating for all areas of health care and the economy. For most businesses the combination of increased expenses and decreased capacity is a constant struggle, and dentistry is no exception. However, we are attempting to make internal changes so as not to burden our patients with an increase in overall fees at a time when everyone is struggling. Here are a few things we are doing to manage this challenge:
DENTAL FEES
Unlike the medical system, dentistry does not receive any government funding to provide care. Each dental office must set their fees according to the costs of running their practices (staffing, rent, PPE, materials, technology etc). Therefore, some offices may have different fees than others. The Nova Scotia Dental Association provides an annual “Suggested Fee Guide” that offices use set their fees for services. All our fees are at or below the NSDA fee guide recommendations. The exception are the fees for our cleanings which are $5-10 above fee guide.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENT
We will continue to accept credit card payments. However, we appreciate considering payment by debit as it reduces the high fees we must pay to the credit card companies.

YOUR INSURANCE
We continue to ask for payment on the day your dental service is provided. As always, we will electronically file your claim directly to your insurance plan so that you will receive reimbursement in a timely fashion (usually within 48 hours if you are set up for direct deposit with them).
